Adoptions Adoptions of domestic rescues include a homesite, a contract, vet references, a non-negotiable no-declaw policy; and, we have a return policy as part of our adoption contract to ensure that no animal will be placed in a shelter. Further, our animals are completely vetted. Canine rescues must be placed in homes with fencing. The Rappahannock Humane Society adoption fee matches our local animal shelter. Our primary focus is to place our adopted animals with the best possible homes. We do require a home visit and that you sign a contract stating you will have the animal spayed or neutered, and that you will not declaw cats, nor will they be allowed outside. We have references available regarding our organization. Just ask!
